The Chamber is proud to honorThe Utah Department of Workforce Services as the March "Business of the Month."

The Utah Department of Workforce Services was formed on July 1, 1997 as a consolidation of five
different agencies which included: Employment

Security, Office of Family Support, Office of Job Training, Office of Child Care, and Turning Point.
This consolidation allowed Utah to be a

leader in the area, and one of the first states to offer a "one-stop" service center where customer could handle all of their service and employment needs. This also included a total revamping of the service delivery structure.

Currently DWS maintains and administers all of the needs based programs including: Food Stamps,
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF),

Child Care, and Medicaid. In addition to these programs, DWS also offers a wide range of employment services, employer services, and training programs that have helped many people to find, keep, or gain employment in the labor market.

The Nephi Employment Center is one of 38 centers throughout the state of Utah offering services free of charge to the public.

The Nephi office is located at 625 North Main, Nephi, UT.  The office is open
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 . Thursday doors
open at 9:00 am.
